Traeger Sirloin Steak
A Sirloin steak is a cut of beef from the hip or rump area. Smoked beef sirloin is one of the tastiest meals that you can prepare on a Traeger grill. It can be cooked in a variety of ways, from grilling to frying, and it’s often served with mashed potatoes and vegetables.

- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Kosher salt (to taste)
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1.5 tbsp Peppercorn blend
- Your favorite steak rub or seasoning (optional)
Dry brine the steaks by applying salt and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.This process tenderizes the meat and enhances its flavor. Place the steaks in a shallow dish after removing them from the fridge. Press peppercorns onto the steaks and sprinkle with garlic powder. Allow the steak to rest briefly before returning it to the refrigerator.
Preheat the Traeger Grill: Start your Traeger grill and set it to smoke, allowing it to preheat for about 15-20 minutes with the lid closed.Load your Traeger grill with wood pellets, such as hickory, to infuse a smoky flavor.
Smoke the top sirloin steaks until they’re nearly at your desired doneness.Remove the steaks when they reach an internal temperature 10 degrees below your desired final cook temperature. Preheat your Traeger grill to 500°F and use a cast iron skillet.
Place butter in the skillet and ensure it sizzles when you add the steak.
Wrap each steak in aluminum foil and let them rest for about 10 minutes.
Slice the steak against the grain for a tender and flavorful result.
