I am very much excited to share my favorite pie recipe with all of you. This key lime pie recipe is an adored dessert that hails from the Florida Keys, where there is an abundance of key limes.
This pie, with its perfect balance of savory taste and sweetness, is one of Florida’s favorite cuisine, and its distinct taste has won over the palates of people worldwide.
What makes this Key Lime Pie recipe stand out and why is this so special?

For the crust:
– 1 ½ cups of graham cracker crumbs
– ¼ cup of granulated sugar
– 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted

Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

1. Let’s start by preheating your oven to 375°F.
2. Now place a baking sheet with parchment paper in the oven.
2. Take a medium bowl and combine flour, baking powder, and salt with a whisk.
3. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the butter and sugar until the mixture is light and airy.
4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture.

6. Stir in key lime juice and lime zest in the well-combined mixture.
7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the baking sheet.
8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
10. Now prepare the lime glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, key lime juice, and salt in a small bowl until smooth.

For the crust you need:
– 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

– 3 large egg yolks
– ½ cup granulated sugar

5. Carefully pour the filling over the baked crust.
6. Again place the baking dish in the oven for an additional 20-25 minutes or until the filling has set.
7. For the topping take a medium bowl, and whip together the heavy cream and granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
8. Spread the whipped cream over the baked bars.
9. Chill the dish in the refrigerator to set it for at least 20 minutes.
10. After being chilled cut the pie into square bars or rectangular ones.
